How to become a yoga therapist

Becoming a yoga therapist is something that, for many is a life changing experience. A yoga therapist is an experienced yoga teacher with additional qualifications, specialised skills, and knowledge in the application of yoga within a therapeutic setting

A yoga therapist uses their understanding of yoga principles and practices, bio–medical knowledge and assessment skills to establish a professional therapeutic relationship with their client. By working together, the yoga therapist and the client develop a programme of yogic ‘tools’ designed to self-empower the client in a way that is appropriate to their specific needs whether physical, mental, emotional, or spiritual

Becoming a yoga therapist involves specialist training. You will learn about how yogic philosophies influence how you approach the therapeutic relationship, tools that will help you assess your clients both physically and mentally and practices that help the myriad of issues facing our clients. You will deepen your knowledge of yourself and of how yoga, as a complementary therapy, plays an important role in wellbeing
